Colin Farrel will play Penguin again in this series that will reach digital platforms, which will begin to search for its cast.
The Iluminerdi site reports that the casting is looking for an elderly actress, who will play Francis, Oswald’s controlling mother.
The relationship between the villain and his mother will be complicated, this derived from progressive dementia that will cause Francis Cobblepott’s thinking, reasoning and independent functions to progressively deteriorate.
The series will alternate present and past through flashbacks to gain an in-depth look at the story behind the Penguin, and his rise to the top of Gotham’s underworld.
This series is also looking for actors to play members of the Falcone crime family. In recent days, as reported by SMASH, Cristin Milioti was chosen to play Sofia Falcone.
Penguin will pick up right where The Batman left off, with part of Gotham City under water after the explosions caused by Edward Nashton.
The producer of The Batman, Dylan Clark, spoke about the spin-off series that Warner Bros prepares about Penguin, which will feature Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepott.
“We’re doing one with Colin (Farrell), watching Oz rise to power, almost like a Scarface story… It’s exciting to do something like that alone, but it speaks to the character and our movie, so you’re going to go back to the movie and say, ‘ Oh I see that backstory there, that line refers to this”.
There is still no release date for Penguin, a series that will arrive through the digital platform HBO Max.
