I admit that I am not a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen. Call it prejudice, mania or whatever. It happens to me with some actors and it is possible that I change my mind over time, as I did with Robert Pattinson who I ended up loving in Tenetfor example, despite hating him in Twilight. But sometimes I find it hard to give that opportunity to change my mind.
It is ugly to judge someone as a bad mother because they release a song (like it happened to Shakira), and it’s just as wrong to judge an actor for a job you didn’t like. Just because it didn’t fit you in one role doesn’t mean it won’t do well in the next ones. I know not to judge, I try to do it as little as possible, and With this miniseries that my best friend recommended to me, I have worked on that New Year’s resolution to judge even less.
My friend Pepa told me that the series was very cool. And as always happens with her: she was right. Her seal of approval is like Lily’s in how I Met Your Mother and it never fails. The face cream that he recommends will always be the right one.. The advice that he gives you will be the best you could receive at that moment and the series that Pepa tells you should be the next one you see, as an axiom in your life.
The spyon Netflix
In this French production starring Sacha Baron Cohen, what really matters least is espionage, because despite being a miniseries of spy games The spy It is in the words of the Espinof experts “a potent drama about family destructibility”
In the 60s, Eli Cohen becomes a secret Mossad agent and infiltrates Syria to carry out a dangerous mission that would last several years. And with this premise and the fact that Eli Cohen’s story is true, the series wins.
That is where its magic lies, in that it is real. The same thing happened to my friend Pepa, and I quote her words: “It freaks me out that it’s a true story, because how far it goes is so strong that it seems more like a james bond movie.”
Sacha Baron Cohen has kept my mouth shut, because in this miniseries he is stupendous, brilliant in fact, proving that his dramatic talent is infinitely greater than his comic vision for which he is best known. A recommendation out of ten from my friend. Pepa, thank you for so much always.
