Unfortunately, many couples decide to put an end to their relationship due to the desire to grow personally and professionally, leading them to go their separate ways, but they face the situation with the necessary maturity to leave open the possibility of a friendship that honors the love that in the past united them.
A clear example of this is Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson, the former couple who after ten months of dating decided to end their relationship and who has now taken their breakup with a maturity absolutely worthy of admiration.
Miley and Cody began their relationship in October 2019, shortly after the singer’s split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The couple used to document their love on Instagram, even living together during the covid-19 quarantine.
However, in August 2020 the singers surprised the world when they announced their separation, because their lives were headed to “very different places”. Back then, 27-year-old Miley confirmed the news and opened up about the reason for the breakup in a live stream on Instagram.

We’re just deciding who we want to be in our lives, what we want to do, so don’t make it into a dramatic story if we go out for pizza next week. Although it was not until after almost a year that Cody was honest about his separation with the interpreter of 7 Thingsrecently addressed the subject in greater depth during an appearance on the Australian radio show The Kyle & Jackie O Show and his statements are as sensible and admirable as those of Miley herself.
The 25-year-old singer explained that at the time he was on his way to his native Australia to practice swimming in hopes of representing his country at the Olympics. As he began to turn his attention to her passion for swimming, Miley was preparing to release her seventh album, Plastic Heartsin addition to having a musical tour at the door.
It was kind of a mutual decision between us, knowing that we were going in different directions in our life. He had just started training at the time. So my life was changing a lot and I knew I would have to go back to Australia to do it properly and professionally.

Cody described the breakup as a “fork in the road scenario, really.” However, despite surpassing his own personal swimming record, the interpreter of Don’t Let Me Go he placed 23rd out of 92 swimmers who competed in the preliminaries.
The Australian told the announcers that there are no grudges involved after the breakup with Miley, whom he had known for many years before giving himself a chance at love. Finally, he talked about how amazing their time together was and revealed that he still fondly remembers his relationship with the singer. Applause for this pair!
