Last 2018, the world of national short films found its unexpected revolution with ‘little pig’; a tense story written and directed by Carlota Martínez Pereda that won the Forqué award and the long-awaited Goya award. Now, four years later, Sara’s story is about to land on our screens in the form of a feature film namesake that has already caused a sensation on the international festival circuit.
The good, if long, twice as good
With the brief —but very intense— trailer that you can see on these lines, ‘Cerdita’ warms up for its premiere, set for October 14 after his for the festivals of San Sebastián and Sitges. Two appointments that come after its premiere at Sundance and after being screened at events such as BAFICI, where its protagonist, Laura Galanwon the award for best performance in the avant-garde and genre section.
‘Cerdita’, written and directed by herself Charlotte Pereda and with a soundtrack of the always effective Oliver Arson —Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s main composer— stars the aforementioned Galán —who already captivated in the short version—, who is accompanied, among others, by Richard Holmes, Carmen Machi, Irene Ferreiro, Camille Aguilar or José Pastor.
In just over a month and with the help of Filmax we will be able to get our hands on what will undoubtedly be one of the great horror titles of 2022. In the meantime, you can see the short film on TVCortos —through Prime Video and with a two-week free trial— and read the synopsis of the film that I leave you below.
“For Sara, summer only means having to put up with the continuous teasing of the other girls in her small town. But everything will end when a stranger comes to town and kidnaps her stalkers. Sara knows more than she says and will have to decide between talking and save the girls or say nothing to protect the strange man who has saved her.”
