Spain is a very popular tourist destination abroad and it has many attractions. And we are not referring only to the good weather, the interesting cultural and natural heritage or the tasty gastronomy of our country. There are also within our borders four of the ten most affordable European destinations, according to a study conducted by Omio. This booking platform for travel by train, bus and plane has analyzed the free and most affordable tourist attractions and activities in 100 cities in Europe. Valencia, Seville and Malaga appear in the top 10 but the first position is occupied by another Andalusian capital.
The objective of the study is to identify the best destinations for tourists on a reduced budget in the current context, when inflation has become one of our main concerns and our purchasing power is reduced. Thus, this analysis has concluded that the best value for money to go on vacation or getaway is in Granada.
And it is that the Andalusian capital has a total of 112 free activities and access to 60 emblematic places. In addition, the entrance to the Alhambra (a World Heritage Site and the most visited monument in the city) costs between 5 and 14 euros only.
On the other hand, a tour on the city’s tourist bus costs 9 euros, a figure that can be considered low compared to other European cities. In addition, the study also points out that its nightlife is accessible, with 86 bars and clubs and an average cost of a bottle of beer of 2.50 euros.
However, we would like to add that not only the city is amazing, the entire province is full of secrets and wonderful places. La Alpujarra, for example, is one of the most beautiful places in the province, and hides the most beautiful white villages in Granada among the mountains, perfect for taking a route. The whitewashed houses among the green of the forests are one of the most beautiful postcards in all of Andalusia.
