That of ‘Dexter’ is not the only massive expansion that is being prepared by the American channel Showtime (or Paramount+ with Showtime, as it will be called) and it is that in what season 7 of ‘Billions’ is in production, it has been announced which is in development no less than four spin-offs of the drama about the financial world.
Besides, all will feature Brian Koppelman and David Levien, creators and showrunners of the parent series, as executive producers. The first one will be ‘Billions: Miami‘, set in the world of private aviation and its clients, who think that the norms of society, government and gravity are not for them.
Millions, billions and trillions
We will also travel to the UK with ‘Billions: London‘, which will take us through the world of British finance; ‘millions‘, which will star several thirty-something aspiring financial tycoons no matter what in Manhattan; finally we will have ‘trillions‘, which will take us through fictional stories of the world’s richest people.
Of these spin-offs, the most advanced is the one set in Miami, which is already in the process of being written by Koppelman and Levin, who state:
“We continue to be fascinated by people whose ambition is inexhaustible and who believe that the laws of civilization and nature do not apply to them. Miami is a vital and vibrant place that the super rich have begun to invade. We can’t wait to show everyone what’s really going on there.”
This expansion does not seem to be detrimental to the mother series. ‘Billions’ It will premiere its season 7 this year and at the moment there is no talk of an end from the series. Something that its viewers are perhaps waiting for more, after the departure of Damian Lewis, than on the channel. Season 7 stars Paul Giamatti, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Condola Rashad, Jeffrey DeMunn, and Daniel Breaker in the cast.
