The British are great lovers of our country, if we are not guided by what they like to come to enjoy the mild climate that we have all year in Spain. In fact, you already had to remind us Guardian that not all the great beaches of Spain are bathed by the Mediterranean. And it is that this prestigious medium considers that the best in the world is in Galicia. Similarly, the Daily Mail (one of the most read newspapers in the United Kingdom) selected the city of Murcia as a recommended travel destination. And they are not the only points of our geography that value because the sun it also has its own favorite corner of our geography.
the sun, the tabloid more widely read in English, has recommended to those travelers who are looking for a destination to escape to this vacation one of the most beautiful Spanish cities. It’s about Cadiz, of which it stands out that it does not have “crowds”, that the gastronomy is “incredible” and its nightlife.
Hope Brotherton has been the journalist who dedicates such words to this place on the Costa del Sol, which she considers perfect for “soaking in the atmosphere of a special vision and a very different side of the more well-trodden Spanish coast”.
Brotherton dedicated his trip to walking through “the narrowest street in the city that is full of plants and flowers”, better known as Goblin Alley. He also visited places as obligatory as the Roman Theater and the Cathedral. On this monument he made a special mention to the history of “its shining gold domewhich was designed so that ships could see the port city in daylight.
As it could not be otherwise, he has also recommended taking a dip in La Caleta beach and not missing the opportunity to visit other towns in the province to enjoy the fairs that take place in the summer months. Above all, recommend Vejer de la Frontera: “a picturesque mountain village with viewpoints overlooking the orange groves and the Strait of Gibraltar” and Conil de la Frontera.
From this last place, it encourages you not to leave without trying almadraba tuna without visiting the medieval fortress converted into a panoramic viewpoint that you will find on the maps as the Torre Guzmán. They have made us want to go without being British.
