New weekend, new assortment of movie premieres landing in our theaters! East friday november 11, in addition to the return of one of the great filmmakers on the Spanish scene, is marked by the arrival of the latest feature film of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that, hopefully, will revolutionize a box office in need of a good boost. Let’s review all the news!
The premieres of November 11, 2022
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (2022)
- ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ marks the closure of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and the first of the baptized Saga of the Multiverse – and is the 30th film of the MCU.
- The director Ryan Coogler returns behind the cameras as director after his remarkable work on the original ‘Black Panther’.
- The film’s script had to be completely redone after the sad death of Chadwick Boseman, and ended up becoming a beautiful tribute to his figure.
- ‘Wakanda Forever’ marks Namor’s first appearance in a live-action production, and he has been given a facelift for the occasion that, to be honest, has suited him perfectly.
Criticism in Espinof: ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is the best Marvel movie so far: a great war adventure marked by the painful absence of Chadwick Boseman
‘As beasts’ (2022)
- It’s the new film by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, responsible for jewels of our cinema such as ‘The kingdom’, or ‘May God forgive us’ and series of the stature of ‘Anti-riot’.
- It won the Audience and Best European Film awards at the last edition of the San Sebastian Festival and the Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor awards at the Tokyo Festival.
- Although the film was set in Galicia, a good part of its scenes were shot in the province of León; specifically in the municipalities of Barjas and Ponferrada.
- Its cast includes names such as Denis Ménochet, Marina Foïs, Marie Colomb and Luis Zahera, who is already a regular for the director.
Criticism in Espinof: San Sebastian Festival 2022 | ‘As bestas’ is violent, dirty and leaves no room for hope: Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s best film is the total antithesis of ‘Alcarràs’
‘Memories of Paris’ (‘Revoir Paris’, 2022)
- It is directed by Alice Winocour, director of titles such as ‘Proxima’ or ‘Augustine’ and screenwriter of the celebrated and Oscar-nominated ‘Mustang’ of 2015.
- Its cast is led by two prestigious performers such as Virginie Efira and Benoît Magimel.
- The film revolves around a woman who has been severely affected after being caught up in a terrorist attack in Paris.
- It arrives in our cinemas after passing through the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where it participated in the Directors’ Fortnight section.
Plus…
‘Tori and Lokita’ (‘Tori et Lokita’, 2022)
‘Icarus and the minotaur’ (‘Icare’, 2022)
‘Emilia’ (2022)
‘Velázquez, power and art’ (2022)
