An event that was managed by the Ministry of Tourism and the State Government, in conjunction with the Events division of Grupo Expansión and Sabino. This race offered the participants different modalities: from 10K to 75K, in which the runners gave an account of their high endurance capacity, both physical and mental, as well as their love for sport by running through different ecosystems that it offers the north of Sonora and the Upper Gulf of California, between dunes, marshes and beaches.

During the first day of the test, the starting shot was at the Rancho Sierra Pinta for the competitors of the 75K and 50K categories so that the runners could enjoy the incredible landscapes that Puerto Peñasco offers from the Great Desert of Altar reaching the Beach San Jorge, which was also the place for the start and finish of the 10K and 25K distances on October 23.
That weekend will be remembered in an emotional way, not only by the community runner national and international but also by the residents of Puerto Peñasco and that it was an important tool to present to the world the wonderful places that Mexico has to visit and experience incredible adventures such as the Altar Desert, El Pinacate and the Sea of Cortez.
“We are going to see each other here next year with an event that is going to double what there was today,” assured Governor Alfonso Durazo, at the time of the award ceremony for this great challenge in which Célida López, secretary of Tourism of Sonora, Jorge Pivac, mayor of Puerto Peñasco and Oscar Castro, local deputy.
If you missed it, it’s time to prepare for a challenge that will make you sweat and face a powerful and beautiful nature with all your abilities.
