The book on which it is based Party at the Burrow
Party at the Burrow It’s a pretty short story. It is written in the first person by Tochtli himself, a 10-year-old boy who lives in “The burrow”or his “palace”, as he calls it.
His father is yolcaut, a very famous and powerful drug dealer. Tochtli calls him “El Rey”, like the song by José Alfredo Jiménez, whose music is part of the pages of the novel.
Juan Pablo Villalobos reveals the harshness of the reality of drug traffickers in Mexico through a black humor that undoubtedly makes this novel a delight. Villalobos was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, but currently lives in Barcelona. He has eight published books.
