That Telecinco has “salvamized” the rest of its grill is not new, but yes, directly lie to the audience. During ‘No Man’s Land’, one of the three ‘Survivientes 2023’ galas broadcast throughout the week (which, by the way, led in audiences with 15.3%), it was repeatedly announced that they had something spectacular and novel up their sleeves in store for the saving ceremony. What they didn’t say is that it was already unique in 2019, when they did it for the first time.
return to the past
Don’t think that the great news is that they are going to copy the American ‘Survivor’ in the mechanics and that therefore, the contestants were going to lie down with each other or something minimally interesting: the twist is that the four possible expelled would be hanging in front of the sea with ropes and Laura Madrueño would cut one by one those of the people who are still nominated, falling into the sea.
The great spectacularity was, then, a dip. But the worst thing, as they quickly realized on Twitter, is that there was nothing “new” about it: It was the way in which they communicated it already in 2019. If nothing occurs to you, it’s fine, nothing happens, but we already experienced in the previous edition the continuous repetition of some tests instead of inventing new ones: ‘Survivors’ is repeated more than garlic.

I don’t know if it’s due to lack of budget or reluctance (whatever they do they’re going to be more successful than the average for the chain) but the truth is that the survival reality show has become a yawning contest stretched out to the extreme where they are not able to create new plots or excite with spectacular novelties. At least, not if they haven’t been copied from four years ago. Oh by the way: Diego Pérez was saved, and Jaime Navas, Alma Bollo and Ginés Corregüela fell into the waterthat the expulsion will be played tomorrow.
The winning call
More things happened yesterday during the premiere of Carlos Sobera’s gala, ‘Tierra de nadie’. The most important was that Patricia Donoso, who said on Sunday that she was going to leave (but in the end she decided to stay and decide on Tuesday), she received a call from her husband, Charles, encouraging her and asking her to stay. Well then it has hit him like a shot.
And it is that the contestant had been with her husband and with the program in which there was going to be no television contact: “Charles’ words the other day didn’t help me at all, they made me very angrybecause he knows perfectly well that he doesn’t have to call me”. Telecinco breaking promises? I don’t think so.
Besides, Donoso believes that her husband sounded forced in the call and that he really does not want him to stay, something to which Carlos Sobera has been quick to say that he sounded sincere to him and that if he wants him to stay, it will be because it is important to her. Total, what another program is postponed plus the possible departure of the contestant.
The snack
The contestants haven’t had time to go hungry yet and the program has already prepared a plate of spaghetti with tomato for the winners of the reward test, in which they had to do a little gymkhana… For which they weren’t even hungry! The ‘No Man’s Land’ group (Bosco, Raquel Mosquera, Sergio Garrido, Artùr Dainese and Raquel Arias) won, ate like pigs (literally) and they left the leftovers to the team that came in second placewho had thirty seconds to enjoy what they had left.
There has been another problem with the food, this one coming from another contestant, Jonan Wiergo, who took a reward of broken eggs from Alma and gave them to Ginés because the contestant had already eaten cake the day before. Don’t you get the impression that to be an extreme survival reality these people eat more than us?
Contestants in an extreme edition who eat every day, repeated tests from 2019, grotesque expulsions… ‘Survivientes 2023’ is having relative success, but Telecinco has to completely soak the format if it wants to continue squeezing it for years. With this, the audience is losing what little trust they had in them. And that is to say.
