The return of Bob Iger to Disney has meant a change of course to recover the old habits that marked the dynamics of the company, which includes re-prioritize the quality of your productions over quantity; but this does not mean, under any circumstances, that we are going to run out of our generous annual ration of marvelitas series on Disney+.
the time of the invasion
Five months have passed since the last show of the Marvel Cinematic Universe —also on television since 2021—, ‘She Hulk: She-Hulk Lawyer’ came to an end, but today we have learned that the next cathodic stop of Phase 5 already has a release date. I’m talking about the long-awaited ‘Secret Invasion’, which will hit our screens on June 21, 2023.
This supposes a gap of about eight months since the broadcast of the last chapter of ‘She Hulk’, which marks a record of spacing that, until now, showed the period elapsed between ‘Hawkeye’ and ‘Moon Knight’, of three months. The general trend to date used to be to leave a month, two at most, between series, highlighting the case of ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, which began two weeks after the closure of ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’.
Focusing on ‘Secret Invasion’, it should be remembered that it will be led by kyle bradstreet, responsible for productions such as ‘The Philanthropist, ‘Copper’ and the celebrated ‘Mr. Robot’. Among his team of filmmakers there are names such as those of Thomas Bezucha —’One of us’— and Ali Selim —’Criminal Minds’—, who will direct Samuel L. Jackson, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman and Cobie Smulders, among others.
The series, which will arrive six weeks after ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, is based on the comic by Brian Michael Bendis —the king of stuffing— and Lenil Francis Yuand will take us around the world at the hands of Nick Fury who will have to investigate a faction of Skrulls that has infiltrated Earth for years.
