Does the Superman and Lois series belong to the Arrowverse? Now we have a response from those responsible for the program.
After the brutal event called Crisis on Infinite Earths, reconfigured the Arrowverse. Until that moment Clark Kent he was just a minor character in the series super girlbut started a solo stage as if it were a restart in Superman and Lois. Now we know that there is much less connection than we expected.
General Sam Lane (Dylan Walsh) reveals that the events of the series do not take place on Earth-Prime like other shows starring supergirl batwoman either Flash. Rather, they are on their own Earth, where Superman is the sole protector.
“I have been working for the Department of Defense for a long time. I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe: glimpses of other worlds and the superhero leagues they have in them. And although we only have your father on this planet, thank God we have him, because he is the best of any Earth ».
The showrunner of Superman and Lois, Todd Helbingconfirmed that the plan was to keep this series separate from the rest:
“From day 1, questions were raised about how we were connected to the Arrowverse. If you go back to the first script that was sent to Warner Brothers and DC, it had a lot of references to other heroes like The Flash. There were times when we were filming, and I think I’ve said this before, but there was a picture of Kara on Lois’s desk at the Daily Planet. All of that slowly receded, and the more we did it, the more it became a can of worms to even mention it.”
“DC and I had a conversation during season 1, and at that point the decision was made to keep the Superman and Lois story separate, but I couldn’t make it public until the end of this season. So when I got all these questions in previous interviews, I knew what we were doing, but I never got to talk about it. It got a little frustrating for me, but I totally understand DC’s position. I’ve said from the beginning that we want to put our own stamp on the Superman property. This wasn’t meant to alienate us from the Arrowverse, but since so many of the other shows will sadly no longer be on the air, I felt like it was the right thing to do.”
So the John DiggleDavid Ramsey what we saw in Superman and Lois, it was also a different version. This is how he explains it Todd Helbing:
“This is also a new Diggle. David Ramsey had grown his beard and hair long. He called me and said: I’ve let my hair grow, I look different. Do you want me to shave and cut my hair? So not to add to the confusion, but he is a different Diggle.”
The third season of Superman and Lois I’m sure it will be very exciting even if you stay away from the arrowverse.
