Silvia Pinal, the 91-year-old Mexican actress, caused surprise in the media by apparently having forgotten for a moment the recent death of actor Ignacio López Tarso, despite having expressed his condolences a few days ago.
López Tarso died on March 11 at the age of 98 after suffering pneumonia and intestinal occlusion in a hospital in Mexico City.
On March 17, during a tribute paid to Silvia Pinal by the Government of the State of Mexico and the Cineteca Mexiquense, the actress was approached by media such as Televisa Espectáculos and asked, in the context of the death of her friend, if he had any special memories with López Tarso. However, surprised by declaring that he had no knowledge of the death, despite the fact that days before he had publicly expressed his regret.
“Sorry? I didn’t know that had happened.”he answered when they mentioned the death of his friend and colleague.
In an audio broadcast on the “Hoy” program on March 13, Pinal expressed his condolences on the death of the first actorwhom she described as a great actor and friend who would always be in her heart.
“He was a great actor, a great person and I wish him from here, well, may my God give him a good presentation,” he said in his condolence message days ago.
Pinal’s apparent forgetfulness about the death of López Tarso has fueled speculation about his health, since for a little over a year it has been rumored that he suffers from senile dementia. In January 2022, his daughter Alejandra Guzmán used that term in a statement to the media after her mother left the hospital after contracting covid-19.
“It is dangerous to have her there, where she could catch something more dangerous and it was the doctor’s decision to bring her home, which made her very happy and It will help you for your dementia, because sometimes I was alone in the hospital”, mentioned the singer.
However, The office that represented the singer denied Pinal’s alleged dementia and explained that the rocker was referring to an effect of covid-19 that made her feel disoriented, something normal for someone over 90 years old.
