It’s been a long time since Netflix confirmed that season 5 of ‘Stranger Things’ would be the last. That does not mean that this universe will end there, because shawn levyexecutive producer and director of several episodes of the series, has confirmed that he is working to expand that universe and doing everything in his power so that there is a crossover with Deadpool.
“It’s on the table”
Let us remember that Levy is also the director chosen to deal with ‘Deadpool 3’ and that he has previously worked with Ryan Reynolds in ‘Free Guy’ and ‘The Adam Project’, so you have to rule out the idea that it’s a joke when He says:
Ryan Reynolds and I are trying to figure out how we could make a crossover between ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Stranger Things’ possible. We haven’t figured it out yet, but it’s on the table.
On paper it seems like an impossible idea, mainly due to the fact that Disney controls Deadpool, while ‘Stranger Things’ is owned by Netflix. In favor of this possibility is the fact that Levy has commented that to expand the universe of the Netflix series he is spending time with the very same Kevin Feig:
Yeah, we’re building the ‘Stranger Things’ cinematic universe, and now that I’m spending time with Kevin Feige, I’m learning a lot about how to manage a universe. So I’m taking those skills and applying them to the ‘Stranger Things’ cinematic universe.
We’ll see where that all comes down to, but one possibility is that there will come a time when ‘Stranger Things’ hits the ’90s and they think of something tied to the fact that the character of Deadpool was not created until 1991. Out there maybe they can find some way to join it to the universe of one of the best Netflix series.
