Some rumors had previously been presented in specialized motorsport media such as motorsportalthough with ANSA it broke the embargo, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Eastern time in the United States and by mistake issued the press release that has already been distributed to some media outlets to prepare the issues for the launch.
The statement includes statements by Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford, Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, and Ben Sulayem, President of the International Automobile Federation.

Ford had been out of F1 for more than 20 years and will return in 2026 as a power unit partner of Red Bull. In that year, a new regulation will come into force within the highest category regarding engines and has summoned new manufacturers such as Audi who will participate as a partner of the Sauber team.
Ford will be part of companies like Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault who currently compete in Formula 1.
Regarding the announcement, the information released by ANSA said that Domenicali comments: “The news today is that Ford will be in F1 in 2026. It is fantastic for the sport and we are delighted that they join the other automotive partners. Ford is a global brand with an incredible heritage in racing and automotive, and our platform delivers tremendous value to our more than 500 million fans around the world Our commitment to be net zero carbon by 2030 and to introduce sustainable fuels in F1 from 2026 is also an important reason for Ford’s decision.”
All this will be revealed with the presentation on February 3 with the presentation of the new car for the team made by Max Verstappen and “Checo” Pérez.
