We present our ranking of the MCU phase 4 films, which we show you from the worst to the best
The Marvel Cinematic Universe had a new era in Phase 4, by having series as support for the films that made up this new phase, but one of the most recurring complaints is that the proposals did not lead anywhere.
After two years of not having premieres, and rescheduling of premieres due to the pandemic, phase 4 arrived, and with it we had all kinds of movies, which went from the worst to the best.
We present you with our ranking of the MCU phase 4 movies, going from what we consider the worst to the best of this phase.
Black Widow
The beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU began with Black Widow, a film that represented a headache for Marvel, not only because of the times its premiere was postponed, or because of the legal problems that the production got into due to the launch. simultaneous with digital platforms.
Good success telling what happened to Black Widow between the end of the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, as well as the introduction of new characters like Red Guardian and Yelena, who will return in Thunderbolts.
But the plot to end the Red Roon, as well as the base in heaven, and playing Drakov’s daughter in Taskmaster were details that did not please many, who punished the farewell to Natasha Romanoff at the box office
Thor: Love and Thunder
The fourth film of the God of Thunder surpassed its predecessor somewhat… The comedy overflowed excessively. There is NO doubt that Taika Waititi is a great director, but Marvel Studios made a serious mistake in giving him creative control on the story.
The introduction of Mighty Thor got a lot of us excited, but let’s be honest, it was a wasted opportunity for Odinson’s legacy to continue in a new carrier. Now Thor’s future is clear: Renew or die
Eternals
The debut of the team created in 1976 by Jack Kirby divided opinions between fans and critics. While the youngest loved the themes of inclusion in the cast, as well as the gender reconversion of some characters like Ajak and Makkari, the most common complaint is that the plot was very slow.
Chloe Zhao delivered a different pitch, and while the outdoor location photography is impressive, the plot didn’t quite grab the fans. Possibly if Eternas had been presented as a 10-episode series featuring each of the characters, the result would be better.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Martial Arts came to the MCU with the debut of another hero who came in the 70s in the comics, thanks to Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos and Drax.
Shang-Chi was the gateway of oriental culture to the MCU, but although it is a tape of origins of one of the next members of the Avengers, some details such as reintroducing the true Mandarin did not end up hooking the audience, which he also gave this tape a lukewarm reception
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The Saga of the Multiverse established several details in the second film of the Supreme Sorcerer that had certain good points and some flaws in its execution, such as presenting Wanda Maximoff as the villain, who only seeks to recover her children, somewhere in the Universe.
But details such as the debut of Reed Richards and Charles Xavier in the MCU did not end up being convincing, the idea was magnificent and it filled movie theaters, but the brief time these characters were in was a failure.
Spider-Man: No Way Home
The third installment of the adventures of the wall-crawler in the MCU became one of the highest-grossing films in film history, added to the fact that Jon Watts’ film became an ode to fan-service, bringing the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Good point, reestablishing the role of Peter Parker within the MCU was a great success, as well as the return of Daredevil, and the appearance of classic villains. The only thing that failed is releasing an extended version, with scenes that lead to nothing.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Ryan Coogler surprised us once again with a film that is something diametrically different from the first part, since the death of Chadwick Boseman and the arrival of Namor in the MCU were key elements to give us a script that doesn’t envy its predecessor.
The management of the duel, the motives of the heroes and anti-heroes and its future repercussions look interesting, in what was undoubtedly the best of phase 4 of the MCU.
