Iman Vellani has the perfect answer for all those who have complained that Ms Marvel’s powers are different from the comics.
In the series of Marvel Studios what can we see in Disney Plusthe character of mrs marvel he will receive his powers from some bracelets. While in the comics she had Inhuman ancestry and could lengthen his limbs. So the differences will be obvious.
Even so, in a recent interview, the actress Iman Vellani defended how they have developed the character for the Ms Marvel series:
“He taps into the future of his story as he connects with his other friends he’ll meet in the upcoming The Marvels movie. Interested to Know: Great, does that mean I’m an Asgardian? Did they hit me with gamma rays? No, apparently it’s neither of those things. It goes to his own past and her heritage and lineage.”
“I am very possessive of Ms Marvel. I think we stay true to what the comics brought. The themes have always been about identity and marrying the 50 million things that make Kamala. As far as I’m concerned, she could shoot sausages with her fingers, as long as she continues on that journey of self-discovery.”
Adil Del Arbione of the directors of the program, said that: “It’s important to go right into Kamala’s world and see it through her eyes… It really shows that her head is in the clouds and she’s always daydreaming.”
Sana Amantco-creator of mrs marvelassured that: “I think the gist of the message is there, we’re just manifesting it in a different way… With the powers themselves, the big fists are still there. The way they behave and use their powers is very, very similar to the general look of the comics. I think people will be satisfied. I don’t think there’s any power quite like this out there.”
Finally the showrunner of mrs marvel, Bisha K Aliadded that: “All the writers involved in this, all the directors and all the cast have this love for this character… And beyond the character, we know what this show means. We know. I know. I’ve been looking for this all my life.”
mrs marvel will be released on June 8 in Disney Plus.
