When it was announced that the eternal ‘Rocky’ saga would have a spin-off focused on Adonis, son of the ill-fated Apollo Creed, many of us raised an eyebrow with distrust only to fall in love with the great boxing show that Ryan Coogler gave us in 2015 from the hand of a Michael B Jordan immense—physically and interpretively.
Three years later, Steven Caple Jr. took over from Coogler for an equally effective and spectacular sequel that banked on nostalgia and raised the stakes by bringing back the hated Ivan Drago. Now, the saga warms up for the closing of the trilogy with the trailer of a ‘Creed III’ that has really amazing looking. Here it is.
Shadows from the past
When it seemed that there were no more stories to tell and that exhaustion would make an appearance, Ryan Coogler and screenwriters Keenan Coogler and Zack Baylin have come up with a story that will delve into the past of Adonis Creed and will confront him with an old friend who returns to his life to turn it upside down both outside and inside the ring.
this time It has been Michael B. Jordan himself who has gone behind the cameras to shape what is his directorial debuthaving at his command a cast in which Tessa Thompson repeats as Bianca, and whose greatest addition is that of a Jonathan Majors as imposing as hypertrophied in the antagonistic role.
If we spice up all these ingredients with what appears to be a new exhibit of the DoP Kramer Morgenthau —which already photographed ‘Creed II’—, everything seems to point to another example of epic boxing brand of the house that we will be able to see in theaters from next March 3, 2023. As a fan of sports and the two previous installments, the wait is going to be eternal.
