Fresh out of retirement, the former star of ‘lost’ (lost)MatthewFox, return to television to prevent an ecological disaster, or at least help mitigate one for which it is partially responsible, in ‘Last Light‘, the upcoming Peacock platform adaptation of Alex Scarrow’s apocalyptic novel of the same name.
A promising trailer with the air of an apocalyptic thriller
According to the official description of PeacockFox plays petrochemist Andy Yeats, who:
“He knows how dependent the world is on oil, and during a business trip to the Middle East, he realizes that something is wrong with the world’s crude supply, which sets off a chain reaction: transportation stops and forces law enforcement are overwhelmed. Andy’s teenage environmentalist activist daughter is alone in London.”
“Yeats’s wife, Elena, and their young disabled son are in Paris. In the midst of this chaos, each member of the family will sacrifice everything to find each other, despite the distance and the dangers that separate them. In trying to solve the origin of the crisis, Andy confronts the previous version of himself in trying to make the world greener”.
‘Last Light’ also stars Joanne Froggatt as Elena Yeats, Alyth Ross as Laura Yeats, Taylor Fay as Sam Yeats, Amber Rose Revah as Mika Bakhash, Victor Alli as Owen Jones, Tom Wlaschiha as Karl Bergmann and Hakeem Jomah as Barça. All five episodes of the limited series are directed by Dennie Gordon.who executive produces alongside Fox, William Choi, Sydney Gallonde, Rikke Ennis, Patrick Renault, Diego Piasek, Patrick Massett and John Zinman. Premieres Thursday, September 8 on Peacock.
