Born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 7, 1962, Reddick studied classical music composition at the University of Rochester before graduating from the Yale School of Drama in 1994 with a Master of Fine Arts. He later started making cameo appearances on shows like New York Undercover and The West Wingsubsequently managed to obtain recurring roles in the HBO series oz and Law & Order: SVU.
With his portrayal of Baltimore Police Department Lieutenant Cedric Daniels in The Wire of 2002, was what served as his true exposure. After starring in all five seasons of the show, the actor followed it up with a four-episode appearance in Season 4 of lost and a starring role as Homeland Security Agent Phillip Broyles, a JJ Abrams sci-fi series, fringewhich took place between 2008 and 2013.
Reddick continued his stint on television with cameos in American Horror Story: Coven and The Blacklistas well as a leading role in Boschbut his next big unexpected leap was in john wick 2014, in which he played “Charon”, a concierge at The Continental. As the franchise expanded, the character took on a larger role, even getting in on the action of John Wick: Chapter 3.
For the latest installment in the series, John Wick: Chapter 4, which opens next Friday, March 24. He will also have a posthumous appearance in the spin-off of the saga.
