Does nothing Netflix confirmed that it is already preparing ‘Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre’, and with the avalanche of announcements from Tudum Japan, it has also finally been confirmed when it will land on the platform.
Warming up for winter
Netflix already has several premieres planned for the winter anime season, and ‘Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre’ head over to her. The anime anthology will be based on various stories by Junji Ito and can be seen from the next January 19.
Several cast members had already been confirmed but the list has continued to expand with Riho Sugiyama, Daisuke Kishio, Rie Suegara, Yumiri Hanamori, Yuji Mitsuya and Hiro Shimono.

New images of four of the stories that the anthology will include have also been seen. ‘Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre‘ will have a total of 20 storys of the mangaka, including content from the volumes ‘The Hanging Balloons’, ‘Tomie’ and ‘Sōichi’.
With the release date already in sight, we can expect a first trailer shortly where the most terrifying moments of Junji Ito’s work are unleashed.
