Jenni Rivera’s youngest son, Johnny López, better known as Juan Ángel, celebrated his 22nd birthday on February 11. The young man took advantage of the date to share a reflection in which he revealed that his mother thought of not having him because she got pregnant at a very important professional moment.
In a carousel of photos on Instagram, Juan Ángel told how ‘La Diva de la Banda’ stopped thinking about terminating her pregnancy and was able to be born.
“A little over 22 years ago, after years of struggling to become a successful recording artist, my mom had her first radio hit with ‘Las Malandrinas.’ Finally, after so many years of hard work, it looked like Jenni Rivera was going to be someone. It was then that God decided that I, an aquarium, would ‘fall’ into my mother’s womb”, reads the first paragraph of the text.
The young man recounted that many close friends of “La Gran Señora” recommended that he not have another child because just at that moment his musical career was beginning to be successful.
“All the voices around mom told her that it was not time to have another child, now that it looked like she had a real future in music. At that moment, she considered aborting me,” Juan Ángel wrote in the post.
How did ‘La Diva de la Banda’ change your mind?
According to the message from Jenni Rivera’s youngest son, the artist went to a health center to terminate the pregnancy, but surprisingly the doctor did not find the fetus. That made her reflect and she decided that he was going to be born.
“When mom went to the clinic, for some strange reason the doctor couldn’t find me. Mom thought it was the craziest thing. She told me later when she was ten years old that she believed that she had hidden me because she did not want to die. That’s when she decided to stay with me.” Johnny detailed what Jenni told him.
His success was unstoppable.
Contrary to what many thought about her musical career, ‘La Gran Señora’ continued to grow musically. Throughout her pregnancy she worked on stage forging her career.
“Mom continued to sing on stage throughout her pregnancy with me. I have always thought that this explained my intense love for the art form… On February 11, 2001, I was blessed with the privilege of being the final of my mom’s children,” wrote the younger brother of Chiquis Rivera.
In his publication, he added that Jenni Rivera managed to sound on the radio with a song the day after giving birth.
“The day after I was born, ‘Dear Partner’ started playing on the radio and within weeks my mom had her second radio hit. When I was 11 years old, she was the highest-earning artist in her genre.”he pointed.
Likewise, he shared a reflection on life plans in which he showed the faith he feels towards God.
“Just a reminder that if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. God’s plan is his plan and yours is irrelevant in comparison. When you don’t understand why God is letting something happen… that’s when you have to trust him the most.” assured the youngest son of the deceased singer.
