Although it has been a while since the 94th edition of the Oscars took place and the show was full of important films that were awarded at that time, the moment that continues to grab the spotlight is Will Smith’s slap in the face of Chris Rock during his comedy stunt.
Since then there has been a debate about whether the blow that the Hollywood actor gave was justified. Both famous artists have already come out publicly to speak on the subject; Will Smith apologized through a video on his social networks and it seems that he wants to continue with his life.
Chris Rock recently revealed that turned down a very good offer from the Hollywood Academy to host the Oscars again in 2023 and now he touched on the subject again during a comedy show in the company of Dave Chapelle.
“Did that hurt you?” Chapelle asked, referring to Will Smith’s punch. “That asshole hit me for a stupid prank. It was the nicest prank I’ve ever done in my life, “replied Chris Rock according to the Daily Mail.
On March 27 during the Oscars, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett’s baldness. Will reacted violently and hit the comedian in front of everyone present and during the live broadcast.
“Will played a perfect person for 30 years and all of a sudden, he ripped off his mask and showed us that he’s just as disgusting as the rest of us. And regardless of the consequences of what he did, I just hope he doesn’t put that mask back on and let his true face breathe,” Chapelle said.
