Esmeralda Richiez Castillo, a 16-year-old girl from the Dominican Republic, died in the bathroom of her house from bleeding to death after consuming five birth control pills, which would have been given to her by her teacher, from whom she was supposedly pregnant.
The case has shocked the entire country, since audios have also been revealed in which Esmeralda asks her friends for help, who so far have not spoken about the situation.
According to witnesses, Esmeralda left her house on February 11 to have fun with her friends and her math teacher, John Kelly Martínez. However, upon returning from her, her parents noticed her pale and with blood stains on the lower part of her body.
Despite her condition, the young woman claimed to be fine and that the blood was only from her menstrual period. Her father insisted on helping her, but she did not allow it and said that she would go to sleep. Hours later, the young woman would have entered the bathroom of her house, where she was found dead.

When she returned, I noticed her very pale and bloody. I asked her partner if she had been raped. My daughter told me that nothing had happened and that she would go to bed.

In addition, some audios that Esmeralda sent to her friends minutes before she died have been made public. In these it is clearly heard how she pleads for her help.

For their part, the authorities of the Public Ministry confirmed the arrest of Professor John Kelly Martínez, the main suspect in the death of the minor, since he would have given five abortion pills to Esmeralda, who, apparently, was expecting his baby.
