At 80 years old, Harrison Ford continues to prove that he is one of the most energetic and sought-after representatives of action cinema. If only a few months ago the Hollywood star returned to donning the distinctive clothing of Indiana Jones, whose fifth film will arrive sooner rather than later on the big screen, now it has been confirmed that the actor will join the Marvel universe with a very relevant role. in the new adventure of Captain America.
The one who was the protagonist of ‘Star Wars’ will play General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the new film ‘Captain America: New World Order’, replacing the ill-fated William Hurt in the role, who passed away last March at the age of 71. Rumors about his signing had been spreading for a few days, but until now they had not been officially confirmed by the Disney factory.
Harrison Ford will share the spotlight with Anthony Mackie, who has already played the titular superhero in the series ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and received rave reviews for his work. The veteran interpreter will thus become the great ‘anti-hero’ of the adventure, thanks to a character full of chiaroscuro and very hostile behavior towards the vigilantes that make up the group of ‘The Avengers’.
Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson and Carl Lumbly are also part of the cast of a film that will hit theaters in 2024. Falcon and the Winter Soldier creator Malcolm Spellman and his right-hand man Dalan Musson are writing the script, while Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will serve as chief executive producer.
