We all have a favorite character, and in a series with so many iconic characters like ‘Dragon Ball’ we have handfuls to choose from. Obviously, the names of the protagonists always sound like Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo…
Even the authors have their own favorites, and since Akira Toriyama himself has also been wet about which is his favorite character, the cartoonist of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ Toyotaro he has also revealed who his is.
It’s clear… more or less
Toyotaro has been drawing since 2015 the manga of ‘Dragon Ball Super’, which he develops together with Toriyama. Between his years as a fan and those he leads the series, there are many to grow fond of the characters. But to no one’s surprise, Toyotaro’s favorite character isn’t hard to guess,
“Overall, Goku is the one I like the most,” the mangaka confessed in an interview for Shueisha. “As an artist, he depends on the scene, because some characters are easier to draw or have interesting arcs.”
Of course, the cartoonist of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ has also admitted that sometimes he has certain favorites depending on the plot of the manga and that sometimes his preferred character to draw changes depending on the arc he’s drawing.
“In volume 17, I liked Vegeta better, I liked the reveal of the Ultra Ego. But in volume 19, [su favorito] It has to be Goku. Maybe I just like who’s more active in the story at the time.”
