The fight is not over, there are new details of the sequel to Mortal Kombat on the big screen
The success of video game adaptations to movies cannot be denied, the case of Super Mario Bros Movie proves it. A few years ago it came Mortal Kombat to the big screen, an adaptation of the fighting game that introduced us to a group of fighters ready to fight at any moment.
Today we have some indications of what we could see in the sequel, as the That Hashtag Show portal reported that Mortal Kombat 2 would introduce new game characters: Shao Kahn, Baraka, Quan Chi and Kitana.
According to the article, Khan and Baraka would be important pieces in the story. However, it should be noted that they keep the source of these statements in silence, so it remains to wait for a statement from Warner Bros.
At the moment there is little official information about this sequel, it is known that the director Simon McQuoid returns to head the project. It will also have a closer participation of ed boonco-creator of the video game.
Who are the new characters?
Shao Kahn: The Emperor of Outer World, wants to invade the land whose only defense is Mortal Kombat. His attempts were thwarted by Raiden and his fighters, who keep Earth safe. He is characterized by his great power and knowledge of dark magic.
Baraka: One of Shao Kahn’s faithful soldiers, belonging to the nomadic race, he can draw blades from his arms, making him lethal against any opponent.
kitana: A warrior who holds a grudge for seeing how Shao Kahn defeated her parents. She is characterized by fighting with a pair of deadly bladed fans.
quanchi: A sorcerer and necromancer in the service of shinnok (an evil god from the Mortal Kombat universe). He wields magic to create portals or summon skulls that hit his opponents.
It is also said that Sindel (Kitana’s mother) he could be one of the new characters, without making his role in the story clear.
At the moment there is not much information about Mortal Kombat 2, but it is known that the script is being worked on.
