Vgly: everything you need to know about the new music series starring Natanael Cano
Today, Mexican urban music and corridos tumbados have become a worldwide phenomenon, but how do you achieve success in this musical genre and what is the atmosphere like?
The Vgly series tries to answer these questions, with a plot inspired by the new exponents of music, directed by Sebastián Sariñana and starring Benny Emmanuel with the special participation of Natanael Cano.
What is the Vgly series about?
Benny gives life to Vgly, a neighborhood boy in the center of Mexico City, whose dream is to achieve fame as a representative of the urban genre.
However, when they meet Natanel Cano, who plays himself, they start a strong rivalry, they even come to blows.
“I don’t appear in many episodes, I am a person who suddenly appears there in the story and I am a singer. I can’t give spoilers, I’m sorry,” said Natanel Cano in an interview for Warp magazine.
However, the singer did not hesitate to confirm that the series portrays very realistically and truthfully what is experienced in this world of Mexican urban music.
“What can I tell you? Normal, nobody is saved from the dangers that every person can experience in their environment. However, I think that it is very real and not so fictional; It’s part of what we’ve been talking about.”
