After two decades as the protagonist of anime, Ash Ketchum it was his turn to retire. He has already managed to be World Champion and right now he is starring in his farewell arc full of cameos and a lot of nostalgia. But as the world is not ready to say goodbye to’Pokemon‘, We start a new series in no time.
Not much has been revealed about the plot yet. this new animebut little by little more details are coming to us with a dropper on the next stage of the series.
Changing region and trainers
The new anime of ‘Pokemon‘ will be set in pales, the ‘Pokémon Scarlet and Purple’ region. The series doesn’t have an official name yet, but perhaps we can expect something related to the region and its mythology.
The biggest novelty of the series is that we also change protagonists. Ash and Pikachu retreat to take over from Liko and Roytwo new trainers, already Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxlythe starter Pokémon of this region.
Liko is a trainer with a mysterious pendant that shines, while Roy (Rod, outside of Japan) looks like he has a strange Poké Ball. There isn’t much information about these artifacts, but they sure have their importance in the anime’s plot.
Not without my Pikachu
He is hated and loved in equal measure, and it cannot be denied that Pikachu is the big star of the franchise… so even if Ash leaves the anime, he can’t get rid of his star Pokémon, because as The Pokémon Company has said: “For 27 years, Pikachu has been synonymous with the Pokémon group, and we want this beloved Pokémon to continue to have a significant presence in the animated series and continue to be an icon of the brand.”
So the best solution for everyone has been to introduce a new one: Captain Pikachu, the partner of a trainer named fiedre. We will see them a lot in the series because Fiedre is also a Pokémon Professor and both will help Liko and Roy during their adventures in order to unravel the mysteries of their artifacts.
When does the adventure start?
For now, some conceptual arts of the characters and a first trailer to say goodbye to Ash have been released, but we are still waiting for a complete trailer to get fully into Paldea.
New ‘Pokémon’ Anime Launches in Japan Next April 15, a few weeks after closing the last arc with Ash. It has not yet been confirmed how we will be able to see it internationally, but It seems assured that it will be released throughout 2023.
