we all know that when Disney gets his claws on something he doesn’t let go until we’re sick of it. This is the case of the remakes of his animated films in live action: after the critical hit of his ‘Pinocchio’, this year he is putting the machine to work again with ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ and is already preparing seriously (beyond the nebulous idea) the new and inevitable version of ‘Lilo and Stitch’. “Ohana” means pasta in the bank.

Dean Fleischer Camp (‘Marcel the Shell with shoes on’, still without a premiere in our country) will be in charge of directing and We already have a confirmed actor: it will be Zach Galifianakis, who will play a yet unknown role. The actor, who lately does mostly voice work in animation (‘Bob’s Burgers, the movie’, ‘Big mouth’, ‘Ron gives error’) He will join a cast full of new characters about whom little is yet known.
Galifianakis will be in the background as soon as we know who plays Lilo, whose casting was sold as “a precocious Hawaiian girl between the ages of 6 and 8 who loves hula hooping, surfing, and naturewith a special fondness for all things gross.” At her side will be two new characters, Tūtū and Mrs. Kekoa. The second will sadly replace Cobra Bubbles, social worker and former CIA agent. Tūtū, for her part, will be a woman in her 70s who will be Lilo and Nani’s neighbor. We’ll see how the experiment turns out.
Disney will not wait to launch ‘Lilo and Stitch’ without confirming more projects and has already announced that in the coming years we will see Live-action versions of ‘Snow White’, a prequel to ‘The Lion King’ (‘Mufasa’) and other more or less successful works that already have a director such as ‘Hercules’, ‘Merlin the Enchanter’ (by the Spanish Juan Carlos Fresnadillo) and ‘Robin Hood’. For now, ‘Bambi’, ‘The Aristocats’ and ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ can rest easy… until its director is confirmed and the wheel never stops turning.
