In an event presented by Bob Chapek, CEO of Disney, in which he assured that this two-year wait will be a pleasant moment for fans of Disney and its associated content brands such as: Pixar, Marvel Lucasfilm, Natgeo, and clearly Disney.
In the first event of this D23 Expo, tribute was paid to the Disney’s Legend, in which the contribution of talents from different fields that give value to the house of Mickey Mouse was recognized.
The D23 Expo takes place this time between September 9 and 11.
In a celebration with all the taste of Disney in which a musical number with themes of Aladdin, Lion King and Frozen moved the audience.
Among the honorees at this ceremony was Ellen Pompeo, who gained much popularity with Grey’s Anatomy. “We know what it’s like to feel connected, because you love what we do and we love you back,” Pompeo said.
Patrick Dempsey was also recognized and reacted excitedly. “I am proud to be part of Disney. We can help, teach and show something more to the world, hopefully 30 more years with you,” said the Grey’s Anatomy actor.
Anthony Anderson, part of the cast of black ish, who is originally from Southern California spoke of the dream he is living. “I am a boy who grew up in a place less than 80 km from Disney and to be here being recognized is something very big,” he told an audience of almost 7,000 people. “As long as we dream, it’s never big enough,” he concluded.
I have to say, Space Mountain is the best.
Tracee Ellis Rosswho is the protagonist of black ish, pointed out the importance of including the narratives of an Afro-descendant person with the reality faced by a woman like her and many more. “I have to say, Space Mountain is the best, it’s still amazing, it may be old, but it’s great,” said the actress referring to the attractions of Disneyland.
The leading cast of Frozenthe actors who have given voice to the animated version of this film as Josh Gad as Olaf, Kristen Bell as Ana, Idina Menzel as Elsa, and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff.
“I hope that whoever didn’t let me work at Disney in Orlando sees that I can now,” joked Gad.
“I hope the parents can forgive me for those songs that they surely heard so many times“Kristen Bell said amused.
For his part, Jonathan Groff acknowledged that Disney was always an encouragement and a desire in a complex childhood for him as a gay boy in Pennsylvania. “One Halloween I decided to dress up as Mary Poppins and my parents were very supportive, it was fun,” he recalled. “Thanks to Disney for making a safe place for everyone,” he said excitedly.
Chadwick Bosemanwho was the main character Black Panther, received a posthumous homage that was received by his brother.
The event concluded with a presentation by the cast of Charm performing “We don’t talk about Bruno”, one of the songs that has caused the most reactions in the last year among Disney productions.
