Spotify once again shows its commitment to the Latin American community, since This September 15 he released “De Todo”, the playlist with which the public can celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
Comprised of songs ranging from Mexican music to indie rock, the playlist features a mix of sounds, artists, languages, and genres that demonstrate that Latin culture is more than just reggaeton and bachata. It is a mix of all the sounds, places and people from around the world that have inspired and influenced Latin creators..
Through this effort, Spotify contributes to the representation of the different identities that make up the Latinx community. In fact, the name of this playlist arises in order to show the diversity of the Hispanic culture.
“’De Todo’ features some of the most exciting Latin artists from the United States and Puerto Rico and highlights those who have paved the way. In an effort to recognize the diversity and richness of the Latin culture, we want to surprise listeners encouraging them to discover new sounds that they may not be regularly exposed to,” said Antonio Vázquez, Head of US Latin Editorial in Spotify.
As if that weren’t enough, ‘De Todo’ demonstrates how our community is a flavorful and vibrant piece of American culture, through the inclusion of artists such as: Omar Apollo, Mariah Angeliq, The Marias and Villano Antillanoamong others.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Spotify has ‘put on the shirt’ for this cause. And it is that the music platform has worked to amplify the voices of the Latino community globally; both on and off the platform through its RADAR shows, live events and creator campaigns that give Latino-created content additional visibility.
