Between pandemics and delays, the truth is that the five seasons of ‘Stranger things’ it took a decade to reach its conclusion (and that we still have to see the last batch of episodes). Little by little, the actors involved are giving their opinion reflecting on these years, but perhaps none do with the sincerity of David Harbour.
Well, that’s it, up to here
In an interview with Discussing Film, the actor was hopeful for the end of the series. And it’s no wonder: since Hopper’s first appearance jobs have rained down on him and he has even ended up being part of the Marvel Universe (next stop, ‘Thunderbolts’). It is logical that he wants to get rid of a job that takes up most of your time and will cause you to reject other that you might like more.
It’s been almost nine years since we filmed season one, and I think it’s about time it ended. But it is, of course, very bittersweet. There is a sadness there. But, on the other hand, we have all grown. It’s time to leave that nest and try other things and different projects. And let the Duffer Brothers try different things too. I mean, those guys are so talented. I want to see what they do next. It’s bittersweet, but it’s definitely time.
It is possible that on Netflix they do not think the same, because they are not going to let go of the only franchise that has really worked for them without fighting it: it was already announced at the time that they were preparing different spin-offs, both in real action and the animated ‘Stranger Things Tokyo’. For a goose that lays the golden eggs they are not going to allow it to go to the Other Side.
