What SMASH had anticipated months ago is finally confirmed by actor Dave Bautista, who puts an end to his participation as Drax with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
One of the characters that conquered the public in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga was Drax, played by Dave Bautista, who will return for Volume 3, which he has confirmed will be his last film with Marvel Studios.

As SMASH had been teased in a timely manner, Bautista made it clear that his contract with Marvel Studios will come to an end once Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been filmed, which will be released in May 2023.
This version was confirmed by Dave Bautista himself in an interview compiled by CBR, where the former WWE wrestler confirms the end of his journey within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I am very thankful for Drax. I love him… But there is a relief [de que se acabó]. It was not at all pleasant. It was hard to play that role”.
Bautista hopes to leave more of a legacy in his foray into film, and he hopes that his legacy is not just remembered as Drax the Destroyer.
“The makeup process was hitting me. And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy, it’s silly acting, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.“.
the end of an era
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits looks a little different these days.
Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill must rally his team around him to defend the universe and protect one of his own.
A mission that, if not completed successfully, could very possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature a cast consisting of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, David Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Pom Klementieff as the voice of Mantis and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
This production is joined by Will Poulter in the role of Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as High Evolutionary, the villain of the plot.
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
