King Charles III of the United Kingdom will be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, and his son, Prince Harry, will attend but without his wife, Meghan Markle.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet”, reported Buckingham Palace through a press release.
This would be the first time that Harry will share with his royal family after the publication of his book “Spare: in the shadow”.
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, will not attend the coronation either, but his wife Jill will. The White House recalled that the US president has a “good relationship” with King Carlos III.
Biden has indicated that he wants to meet with the monarch in the United Kingdom “in the future” and highlighted “the strength of the relationship” between the two countries.
The son of Elizabeth II will use two different crowns on may 6, the usual St Edward’s wreath on the spotwhich is composed of solid gold and precious stones, which makes it weigh two kilos.
After mass at Westminster Abbey, the monarch will do what his mother did, wear the Imperial State Crownwith this he will greet his subjects from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
On Sunday 7 May 2023, the BBC and BBC studios will host and broadcast live at Windsor Castle a special coronation concertfor which several thousand tickets will be put up for sale by public vote.
He Grand Coronation Luncheonwhich invites neighbors and communities to share food and fun, will take place across the country on the same Sunday.
By Monday, May 8, 2023, citizens will be invited to participate in the big helpwhich will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being done to support their local areas.
