MIDO seeks to emphasize Mexican traditions and share them with the world through its Commander Big Date Celebration Limited Edition, a watch with an explosion of color reflected in the figure of a skull that wraps the entire dial with canvases deployed around it. The skull was specially imagined to demonstrate Mexican traditions, printed with 12 different colors of Super-LumiNova creating a different face day and night.
This piece integrates details and ornaments used in festivities and celebrations unique to our country, for example, chopped paper; a craft from the Aztec empire that is currently used to decorate offerings, national holidays, among others.
The robust, round case of this Commande Big Date measures 42mm in diameter and is made of satin-brushed stainless steel, reflecting added elegance and highlighting the unrecognizable silhouette of the Commander collection. Bulgari presented the Octo Striking Mexico Edition, a watch that pays homage to the rich history of our country. It is inspired by the legacy of the Aztec culture, the most powerful and evolved of the Mesoamerican civilizations.
This watch is more than a tribute to the pre-Hispanic vestiges of Mexican culture, it is also a tribute to time itself, uniting the meaning of the time of our ancestors with a skeleton movement that shows the modern savoir-faire of Swiss watchmaking.
