Earlier this month billie eilish went to the Met Gala wearing a black dress with lace and presenting a more sensual image; that generated comments among her fans, and some of them pointed out that the singer had “sold out”, changing her baggy clothes for tight outfits.
In several messages posted on her Instagram stories (and later deleted), 21-year-old Billie was very direct in addressing these criticisms.: “Here’s a letter to some comments I’ve seen a few times: I spent the first 5 years of my career completely erased by you fools for looking like a boy and dressing the way I did, constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman. And now, when I feel comfortable enough to wear something remotely girly or skintight, “I CHANGED and sold myself…” and “what happened to her?” My God, “it’s not the same Billie, she’s like the rest”, blah blah. You guys are real idiots. LOL. I can be both b*****s clowns. LET WOMEN EXIST!”
Not everything stopped there, because in another message the grammy award winner stood up for the right of girls to dress the way they want and change their looks: “Did you know that women are multifaceted? Believe it or not, women can be interested in multiple things.” Billie now sports her black hair, and in one of her recent post of instagram -which has already exceeded 10 million likes– appears wearing a tight top and showing the tattoo on her abdomen.
