After spending a large part of his career being unfairly laughed at—and despite winning his first Oscar in 1998—good old Ben Affleck began to shut his detractors’ mouths when he decided to make the leap into directing with the remarkable ‘Bye little one, bye’. Sixteen years, three feature films and an Oscar for best picture later, The one from Berkley goes back behind the scenes with a project that looks spectacular.
After immersing himself in the world of organized crime in the 20s with ‘Live by night’, Affleck radically changes the third to tell us the story behind the creation of the most mythical shoes in the world of basketball in ‘air’; a kind of biopic set in the 80s that will reunite the filmmaker with his close friend Matt Damon.
Just Do It
As you can see in the trailer that presides over these lines, in addition to fantastic chemistry between the leading couple, ‘Air’ boasts a first-class cast that includes names such as those of Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Chris Messina, Marlon Wayans and Chris Tucker, among others. A Dream Team to shape a feat that would forever change the world of sports and fashion.
The feature film will hit US theaters next April 5 before landing on Amazon Prime Video about 45 days later. While we are waiting for the confirmation of its release date in Spain, I leave you with the official synopsis of the film.
“AIR chronicles the incredible and groundbreaking partnership between then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s first-time basketball division that revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. This emotional story follows the career-defining wager of a unconventional team with everything on the line, the relentless vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.”
