Much has been said about the intense preparation that the actor underwent Austin Butler to be able to interpret Elvis Presley in the biographical film “Elvis”but beyond rehearsing his accent for weeks was the challenge of gaining weight to look like the king of rock and roll during his last years of life. Now Butler revealed what he ate, and curiously followed in the footsteps of another famous artist.
After reading that ryan gosling had gained weight drinking many gallons of melted ice cream in the microwave Austin decided to do the same, and revealed it in a recent interview with Variety: “I started doing that. Plus I would go for two dozen donuts and eat them all. I really started to gain pounds. It’s fun for a week or more, and then you feel horrible about yourself.”
His effort paid off, and now the actor is nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the acclaimed film. He also had a hard time speaking again without the singer’s tone, although the vocal adviser for Austin Butler announced a few days ago that the accent of Elvis Presley it will remain in it “forever, as it is hard to let go of something you have focused on for so long.”
