There is a corner in Cantabria that, more than bathed by the Cantabrian Sea, could perfectly well be lost in the middle of the Pacific. Saving all distances, yes, but the truth is that it is an excellent getaway option for those looking for different holiday destinations but without leaving Spain. It is called Prellezo and officially belongs to the municipality of Val de San Vicente. It is here where we find the so-called Berellín beach, also known as Barnejo beach or Prellezo beach.
Berellín beach is very curious due to the presence of karst formations that surround the coves. When the tide is low, we can get close to these rock formations and investigate their little corners, which makes this beach an ideal place for those who want something more than just taking a bath.
However, when the tide rises, the beach is still just as fascinating. Other of its attributes are a fine white sand that extends for 740 meters. In addition, it has a very gentle slope that allows you to enjoy long days at the beach with complete peace of mind.
Despite its inhospitable landscape, it is an easily accessible beach. It is located just one kilometer from Prellezo himself and has a parking lot about 300 meters away. It has a single access for pedestrians that also has a viewpoint that offers a great panoramic view of a place reminiscent of the island of Koh Taobut in the heart of Cantabria.
