Fred Savage has been fired of ‘Those wonderful years’ after completing an investigation resulting from the accusations of inappropriate behavior on the set that had been made towards him. In this way, the protagonist of the legendary original series will cease to serve as executive producer and director in his recent reboot.
From 20th Television they have not wanted to clarify what exactly the accusations werebut they did take them seriously and firing Savage was the best solution.
Savage’s background
The truth is that this is not the first time that the actor has been investigated for this reason, because in 2018 the actress Alley Mills revealed that oneCompletely Ridiculous Sexual Harassment Lawsuitagainst Savage and Jason Harvey led to the cancellation of the original series. On that occasion she took an out-of-court settlement.
Also in 2018, a member of the ‘The Grinder’ crew accused the actor of having attacked and accused her during filming from the series three years earlier. 20th Television also investigated what happened, but then found no evidence that Savage had done anything punishable. Again, an out-of-court settlement put an end to everything.
For now It is unknown if ‘The Wonder Years’ will have a second seasonbut Savage was in charge of directing eight episodes of the first season, including the pilot, so his departure will be noted in case they decide to go ahead with it.
Savage has not yet commented on what happened. Surely I am not the only one who is curious to know what his reaction will be, if he will follow the path of harmony in the style of Bill Murray or if he will opt for direct confrontation, as happened recently in the case of Frank Langella.
