Let’s remember, from one of the most iconic moments of the 94th annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater on March 27, 2022, Smith slapped Rock on stage, after the comedian made a joke about the alopecia of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett.
At gala number 95, none was present and they gave different reasons.
On the one hand, we have Smith who was banned for 10 years, while the comedian allegedly did not want to attend, despite the fact that the Academy offered him to perform again at the Dolby Theater.

Smith premiered his film “Emancipation” through Apple TV and with it a private screening attended by Rihanna, Dave Chappelle and Tyler Perry.
He offered a television interview explaining that that night his entire past came to his mind and that is why he exploded. And she also accepted that because of the incident, people would think about boycotting the film and not seeing it. In the end the film was not considered for an Oscar.
Netflix halted pre-production on “Fast and loose,” where Smith would work. Furthermore, “Bright 2” was canceled a month after the incident.
