Marvel Studios prepares the arrival of Daredevil at UCM with his own series. These are the 4 changes that the study will make in its new version.
Sana Amanatdirector of content and character development for Marvel and producer of the television series Kamala khanrecently spoke with Murphy’s Multiverse. Everything he has commented is very interesting. The executive has revealed certain elements related to the reboot of Daredeviltelevision series Netflix which now becomes part of the MCU Phase 4. These are all the details that have already been revealed during this interview.
1- The influence of Mark Waid
One of the most remembered recent stages of Daredevil Its the Mark Waid. Sana Amanat knows the screenwriter well, as she was an editor at the time. When she was asked if she was going to influence the series of Marvel Studios, the executive was clear. “I don’t see why not!” she claimed. “Mark Waid’s career was pretty seminal.” So we can expect Mark Waid to be one of the biggest influences.
2- An unexpected version of the character
“We’ve never seen that kind of story and I love the twist they put on it,” Sana Amanat continued about the Daredevil series written by Mark Waid. “It was a completely unexpected take on the character.” If we take into account that the Marvel Studios reboot will follow this plot line, everything indicates that this “unexpected twist” will be transferred to the TV show. Disney+.
3- Netflix’s own “darkness” will be left aside
One of the most characteristic elements of the Mark Waid’s Daredevil is that it had much more light and comedy than previous versions. The acclaimed era of Frank Miller laid a narrative foundation that was later emulated for decades. The rupturism of Mark Waid hits a lot with the tone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I would like to do something like that in the reboot,” said Sana Amanat. “Don’t be surprised if they ended up doing something like that in the MCU.”
4- The risks that are going to be taken
Why shouldn’t we do it? Sana Amanat wondered. The truth is that many fans would like the darkness and street tone of the Netflix series to be maintained. But that tone doesn’t suit the Marvel Studios universe so much. If they retrofit it, it’ll work much better. “We like to take risks and this is the fun part of exploring so many stories.” So, everything indicates that Mark Waid will be the roadmap for the reboot of Daredevil. We will have more light and more comedy. A lighter tone that suits the UCM like a glove and that will catapult the character into the cinematographic universe.
