‘One Piece’ is already an institution in Shonen Jump magazine and has been in almost uninterrupted publication since 1997. From time to time Eiichiro Oda take some rest (although it seems that they almost, almost have to force him) and now it only publishes three chapters a month instead of four to rest and be able to better prepare the final saga of the manga… But this week it surprised us by announcing a four-week hiatus.
touch set-up
This week will be published manga chapter 1086which we will be able to read next Sunday through Manga Plus, but we have to be aware that there will be a small break in history afterwards.
The reason is one that Oda had been putting aside for a while but which he has finally decided to remedy: astigmatism surgery and your eyes will need a rest time to recover.
“I am going to undergo surgery to correct my astigmatism because it was interfering with my work,” Oda explained in a message to his fans. “I’ve been talking about this with the editor-in-chief of Shonen Jump since last year and I’m taking four weeks off. I’ll be able to shoot lightning with my eyes!”
So this break in principle will last until next July 10, so that Oda can calmly recover from the operation and start working on the following chapters. July is going to be quite an intense month in terms of ‘One Piece’because in addition to the fact that we are approaching the culmination of the Wano Arc, there will also be several events focused on the manga, the anime and maybe even the Netflix series… So Oda better gather strength and take a well-deserved rest while you still can.
