And the gala of the 95th edition of the Oscar Awards is over. A 2023 edition that has brought us some fun moments, other emotional ones (which you can review in our chronicle) and an interesting roster of winners. And as surely the bug has bitten us with some of the winning films.
Thanks to streaming, we have a golden opportunity to be able to see most of the award-winning movies on platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Movistar Plus+ and Apple TV+.
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

Best wardrobe (1)
The film that closed Phase 4 of Marvel took a couple of surprising nominations and finally the emotional farewell to Chadwick Boseman took the cat to the water in such and such.

Best documentary film (1)
Given the events we are experiencing, it was quite logical that the documentary about Alexei Navalny, leader of the opposition in Putin’s Russia and his controversial fate under the eyes of filmmaker Daniel Roher.

‘The boy, the fox, the mole and the horse’ (The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse)

Best Animated Short Film (1)
Peter Baynton and Charlie Mackesy gave us this little story based on the second year’s book about a boy who, lost in the woods, begins to make friends with the animals he meets.

‘Our baby elephant’ (The Elephant Whisperers)

Best documentary short film (1)
From India came this emotional documentary about a couple who dedicate their lives to caring for a small elephant that has been orphaned.

‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’ (Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio)

Best animated film (1)
Guillermo del Toro’s film has given Netflix an Oscar and has broken the custom of giving the award to whatever comes out of Pixar in the year in question. A great review of the Italian short story with all the hallmarks of the master of the fantastic.

Best Original Song (1)
The (unfortunately) only nomination for Indian bestiality has thankfully materialized with the Oscar for that hymn that is Naatu Naatu. The film about the fictional encounter between two heroes of the Indian revolution is a show that won’t let you close your eyes during its three hours.

‘All Quiet on the Front’ (Im Westen nichts Neues)

Best International Film, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Original Score (4)
The war movie of the season takes us to the rawness of trench warfare, World War I with a new adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Erich Maria Remarque. This time by the hand of Edward Berger it was one of the favorites and finally it has won x prizes.

‘Everything at once everywhere’ (Everything, Everywhere All at Once)
Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Direction, Best Leading Actress (7)
He started out as a great favorite and has had an interesting one-on-one with ‘All Quiet on the Front’, which he has finally won. This multiversal adventure choreographed by “the Daniels” is a film as fantastic as it is memorable.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’

Best sound (1)
The return of our beloved Tom Cruise to the elite of the air forces has made us vibrate beautifully in the film directed by Joseph Kosinski. A great action tape that has finally won a statuette.
