Lawrence took a break from the cameras and spotlight after appearing as Raven Darkhölme, better known as Mystique, a role that made her internationally known.
Born in Indian Hills, Kentucky, Lawrence took a liking to the stage from her childhood, and at the age of 14 she moved to Los Angeles to prepare as an actress, thanks to being discovered by a talent scout.
From the X-Men to stardom
In 2008 Lawrence got her first break in Hollywood with Garden Party, where she played Tiffany, and her talents led her to receive her first Oscar nomination in 2010 for her role as Red Dolly in Winter’s Bone.
In 2011, under the direction of Matthew Vaughn, Lawrence was part of the cast of X-Men: First Class, giving life to Mystique, a character played by Rebecca Romijn between 2000 and 2006.
Lawrence played Mystique in three more films, and in 2012 the actress starred in The Hunger Games saga, where she played Katniss Everdeen.
The Kentucky native earned three more Oscar nominations, winning in 2012 for her role as Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook.

In 2021, the film Don’t Look Up was released, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio for Netflix, which was Lawrence’s last film, before marrying Cooke Maroney, the director of the Gladstone Galler art gallery, with whom the actress She already had her first child.
It took two years for Lawrence to return to the sets, and the actress told Reuters that the script by Gene Stupnitsky has been the funniest she has read in her career.
