A few months ago, it was speculated that beetlejuice could have a sequel in which Johnny Depp and Jenna Ortega would be part of the main cast. Well, after months of rumors and in the midst of the CinemaCon festival, Warner Bros. confirmed that said sequel is already in development and will bear the name of beetlejuice 2.
Entertainment portals such as Screen Rant and ComicBook detailed that the film already has a promotional logo. However, plot details are being kept under wraps.
In March, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Jenna Ortega (star of merlin) would be the main star of beetlejuice 2 and would give life to the daughter of Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder).
Additionally, it was reported that Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton would reprise their roles as Lydia and Beetlejuice, respectively. Then a rumor arose that Keaton would have turned down the offer and Johnny Depp would take the role of him. Even so, so far, none of this has been confirmed by Warner Bros., so we will still have to wait to find out which artists will be part of the cast.
As for the plot, it was rumored that the tape would focus on the daughter of Lydia Deetz, who would have a notion of the world of the dead and would bring Beetlejuice back. But again, this information has not been confirmed by the company.
Everything indicates that we will still have to wait for Warner Bros. to reveal more details about this ghostly project, although some already predict a complete success.
