After much bickering, the verdict of the trial in which the American actress Gwyneth Paltrow was indicted for injuries a retired optometrist sustained on a ski slope at a Park City luxury resort in 2016.
It was last March 30 that A Utah jury ruled that the “Iron Man” and “Sliding Doors” star was not responsible for the concussion and four broken ribs in the incident.exonerating her from the $300,000 in damages that the plaintiff requested in exchange.
And it is that the affected 76-year-old claimed that “a woman was skiing out of control” when it collided with his back and sent him flying over a hill at Deer Valley Resort.
In response to her accusations, the Oscar-winning actress prepared a counterclaim in which she claimed that she did not cause the accident and that it was Sanderson who hit her from behind.
“I was skiing with my children when two skis got between my skis, forcing my legs apart, and then there was a body pressing against me and there was a very strange growl,” the famous recounted. “I did not cause the accident, so I cannot be blamed for anything that happened to him later,” he added.
As a reward, Gwyneth requested $1 in symbolic damages, an amount to which she was awarded after being victorious in the case.
During the reading of the verdict, the histrionics showed her emotion through a discreet smile. And despite the insistence of the media, she and her defense team decided not to comment on it.
