    For more than 5 decades, “The guy from 8“ It has brought laughter to millions of people around the world. This has been thanks not only to its interesting plot, but also to the iconic characters that today are very loved by children and adults alike.. Such is the case of ‘The chilindrina‘, the girl played by María Antonieta de las Nieves who followed the adventures of ‘El Chavo’.

    Being one of the main characters in this comedy, he has not been exempt from questions about the origin of his name, so today we tell you where the idea that Roberto Gómez Bolaños brought to life came from.

    According to Bolaños’ own memoirs, “La Chilindrina” was just the little girl’s nickname. In fact, her real name was ‘Espergencia’; however, they decided to give it a nickname that was easier for the public to remember.

    In this regard, the actress María Antonieta de las Nieves delved into the subject in an interview and stated that they chose “La Chilindrina” thanks to its similarities with a traditional Mexican bread.

    “In Mexico there is a very rich bread, which is sweet, which is eaten with chocolate or coffee, and is called chilindrina, because it has pimples, like my freckles. It’s just that they also have freckles, no more than their freckles are sweet, burnt sugar!” Said the famous in an interview with Radio Caracol in Colombia.

    We cannot forget that in addition to María Antonieta de las Nieves, the Roberto Gómez Bolaños series catapulted other actors to international fame, such as: Ramón Valdés, Rubén Aguirre, Florinda Meza, Carlos Villagrán and Edgar Vivar, to name a few.
